Join us on September 4, 2019, for the 27th Anniversary of Recovery Happens Rally & Activities at the State Capital.

Recovery Happens begins with the famous pancake breakfast at 8:00AM in Gallegos Square. Activities are at the West Steps of the Capitol. Join the planning committee to help create this exciting event.

“This event emphasizes that individuals in recovery and their support systems can be change agents in our communities,” said CCAPP Executive Director, Pete Nielsen. “It is critical that people experiencing substance use disorders receive the support they need. The reality is that behavioral health is essential to health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.”

Recovery Happens is part of National Recovery Month, an observance sponsored by SAMHSA, within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The observance raises awareness of mental and/or substance use disorders, celebrates individuals in long-term recovery, and acknowledges the work of prevention, treatment, and recovery support services. It is a fun day with great photo/video opportunities and inspiring stories of healing and positive energy.
