Celebrating National Recovery

Month Every September

Looking Ahead to the 34th Annual Recovery Happens at the Capitol – September 2, 2026

First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the 33rd Annual Recovery Happens such a powerful and memorable day. From those who attended, to our generous sponsors, to the organizations that set up vendor tables—your presence and support turned the Capitol grounds into a celebration of hope, resilience, and community. Together, we showed California and the nation that recovery is not only possible, but thriving.

Now, we’re excited to announce that the tradition continues with the 34th Annual Recovery Happens, returning to the California State Capitol on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. For over three decades, this event has brought together people in recovery, families, providers, advocates, and allies to honor the strength of the recovery movement.

The day will once again begin with our beloved pancake breakfast, followed by a full schedule of speakers, live entertainment, community resources, and fellowship. As always, the event is free to attend and open to the public—no registration required. We’ll close the day with a powerful recovery meeting, a reminder of why we gather: to celebrate lives transformed and to stand united for those still seeking recovery.

Whether you’re a longtime supporter or attending for the first time, we invite you to be part of this inspiring day. Mark your calendars now and join us in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and celebrating recovery.

Stay tuned for more details on sponsorship opportunities, vendor registration, and the day’s full program. Together, we’ll make the 34th year the strongest yet.
